Golf De Paris Garches
Opened in 1913, the Golf de Paris is a private club with two 18-hole courses, located in the towns of Garches, Rueil-Malmaison and Vaucresson, in the immediate vicinity of Paris. The Eiffel Tower, which stands in line with the 8th of the Green and the 18th of the Yellow, offers a magnificent view of Paris. Designed by Harry Shapland Colt, the first true golf architect, the Green course has hosted the French Open 14 times. It is the historic course of the French Junior Internationals - Esmond Cup. The Golf de Paris has one of the finest amateur team records for the ladies: 26 victories in the French Championship. The best French amateur players come to play the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, which every other year bears the name of its founder, Henry Cachard, and that of Jacques Petit-Le Roy, a very good amateur player, member of our Club, young resistance fighter, emissary of Jacques Chaban-Delmas, shot at 28 years old the day before the Liberation of Paris. The Golf de Paris, along with 21 other French golf courses, is included in the Rolex guide of the 1000 best courses in the world. But what makes the Golf de Paris so endearing, beyond the practice of a wonderful sport, is the sharing of common values: sportsmanship, family spirit, friendship and conviviality.
